The Principal Oleg Polukhin discussed life and education of African students with delegation of Benin Republic Embassy
Chargeable pro tempore of Benin Embassy Pierre Collie and financial attache Vianon Gilles visited BelSU to discuss education and living conditions of students from Benin.
Greeting guests, the principal Oleg Polukhin said that administration appreciates the fact that Benin students choose BelSU and assured that university has all conditions for confortable dwelling and studying.
ďWe do everything to educate students in a way that benefits your country. There are 24 students from Benin at BelSU, but we are ready to discuss the possibilities of increasing this numberĒ, Ė he said.
Mr. Collie expressed his gratitude for the conditions of Benin students and said that BelSU is a university with the biggest rate of students from Benin Republic. He told about the hot-topic questions among the students, such as boarding fees, side job, studying for Master and Postgraduate degrees, national holidaysí celebrations at the university etc.
The principal of BelSU told about living conditions in dormitories and noted that universityís administration is ready to support students and offer them an instalment fee plan. The Head of International Cooperation Office Mikhail Trubitsyn said that students, who stays in dormitories for summer break, can work in some BelSU offices and departments.
The guests from Benin were especially interested in celebrating of national holidays at BelSU. Oleg Polukhin has told them about the Cross-Cultural Communication Center where studentsí national holidays are constantly celebrated. Mr. Collie said that an opportunity to celebrate such occasions is very important for students and thanked the Principal for the organization of sociocultural environment of the university.
Both sides also discussed recommendations for Benin students to continue their studies in Russia. The Principal expressed the administrationís readiness to support the best students and recommend them for Postgraduate and Master courses.
At the end of the meeting the Principal said that university administration works hard to strengthen cooperation with Benin and it is ready to support Republic. Mr. Collie thanked the colleagues for their support and noted that 80% of republican specialists are graduates from Russian universities.
Then the representatives of Benin Embassy meet the students from Republic at BelSU Cross-Cultural Communication Center.
Note: BelSU educates foreign students from Benin Republic due to Russian Government quota.
