Dr Alexander Soloshenko, who teaches at the Medical Institute's Department of Hospital Surgery, won 'Best Surgeon' in a national competition
The prestigious 'Doctor of the Year' competition considered 667 works in 29 categories by 56 entrants from the Russian Federation. The work was assessed by the National Competition Committee. Dr Soloshenko, who is Chief Surgeon at St Joasaph's Regional Clinical Hospital, has authored more than 100 scientific publications, 10 monographs and teaching guides, and has 5 patents for inventions and training aids. Dr Soloshenko's simple teaching style is greatly appreciated by students, interns, residents and graduate students alike. He shares his experience through lectures, seminars, and clinical analysis of patients' conditions.
In his role as Chief Surgeon and Head of Transplants for Belgorod region, Dr Soloshenko pays special attention to the organisation of medical services in his purview, and to the method and training of medical personnel, and quality control of the surgical care administered to the population of our Region. He is currently working on a Doctoral thesis on the development and implementation of new surgical implants and their biocompatibility.
