A Trip to St Petersburg

Professor Vaganova is head of the Finance, Investment and Innovation Department, and Dr Lyschikova is an expert in Production Process Modelling. Along with a thousand people from across Europe and the Russian Federation they attended the 5^th annual 'Foresight' conference sponsored by the Witte Institute for New Industrial Development, and the Free Economic Society of Russia. The event was hosted by the Peter the Great St Petersburg Polytechnic.

Of particular interest to them was the 'Digital Economy and Industry 4.0: Looking Forward to 2025' forum, where the academics attended a plenary meeting and looked in on a couple of fringe talks. They also got to wander round the exhibits, including the Kawasaki-Polytech Industrial Robotics Centre, the International Centre for Additive Technologies, the SPbPU Supercomputer Centre, and the Baltic Industrial Company.
