University Honoured for Its Community Work

1^st May is Labour Day around the world, and the Regional Government and the Belgorod Regional Association of Trade Union Organisations (BRATUO) marked the occasion by handing awards to 34 organisations actively enhancing the quality of life for Belgorod Region's population. The Chair of BRATUO, Nikolai Shatalov, whose members selected the winners, handed out the award to our University for 'Services to Professional Education'. The Rector and Valery Timofeev, the Chair of the University's Trade Union Association, received the award on behalf of the staff. The Rector thanked the Governor and the comrades, saying,

“Our university was created by and for all the citizens of Belgorod. Time has proved the correctness of our decision to create a classical university in Belgorod, which, in a short time, has grown into a leading research university. Our University is a flagship for education in Russia, and recognised as such by rating agencies in Russia and globally.”
