A Minister from the Embassy of India Visits

Professor Oleg Polukhin, Rector of the University, greeted the party, and toured the University facilities, which appeared to impress our guests. The Rector addressed issues regarding Indian students, and hoped that their number would increase in the near future. At the moment, the majority of students from the subcontinent are studying medicine, but the Rector hopes that in future, more students would go into engineering and science. To that end, he spoke about partnerships with Indian higher education. Minister Raj hoped that his remit as head of education at the embassy would be the catalyst for closer ties between our two countries. The guests met our Indian students, and had long conversations about their experience at our University. Then the Minister signed some memoranda of understanding at the conclusion of a positive day.
