Belgorod State University entered the Forbes Top 50 of the best universities in Russia, ranking 38th overall
When you take out the Institutes in and around Moscow and St Petersburg, we rank 8th in the study. The study looked at 1,000 higher educational establishments across the country and relied on two sources for the information. The first was Ministry of Education statistics, and the second was the perceived power and wealth of the leading 1,600 elite parents of graduates. The metrics used were divided in to assessments out of 100 points, with 50 for 'quality of education', 30 for 'quality of graduates', and 'elitism' which has 20 points available. Obviously this is a brilliantly thought out, rigorously assessed, and non-subjective or biased study. For what it's worth, we got 4,127 points out of 100, and the National University of Science and Technology came top with 5,411 out of 100. We have one thing in common with them, in that we share a common rank in metallurgy in the subject rating for the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation University Ranking.
