14th Annual Congress on Mineralogy

The event was organised under the auspices of the Ministry of Education and Science and the Regional Government, by the Russian Academy of Sciences and all related geological organisations. The Congress serves as the centrepiece of the geologist's year, and offers academics, politicians and businessmen the chance to talk shop and make useful contacts. It is a platform for the latest technology, and a forum for the discussion of the latest research.

Drs Gzogyan presented their papers in the sections of the Congress devoted to 'Geometallurgy, Technological Mineralogy and Techniques for Processing Mineral Raw Materials' and 'Environment and Energy Resources'. Their papers were devoted to how they used technology to study impurities in iron ore deposits, and an explanation of their findings, namely, how iron ores break down in situ.
