Belgorod region can be proud of BelSU researchers

During their acquaintance with the university’s scientific facilities the Acting Governor of Belgorod Region Vyacheslav Gladkov and Deputy Head of the Department of Internal and Personnel Policy - Head of Science Department Yekaterina Zhuravleva visited the scientific and educational center Botanical Garden of National State University, examined the greenhouse and learned about the research areas investigated by the Laboratory of Plant Biotechnology and the Laboratory of Genetics and Plant Breeding, as well as the projects implemented under REC “Innovative solutions in Agri-Business” and the unique project “Belgorod Lilac”.

BelSU Rector Oleg Polukhin noted that the federal grant and the university’s investments provided for significant development of research in genetics and plant breeding. Thus, the university proceeded to the second stage of Laboratory of Plant Biotechnology establishment, purchased cutting-edge equipment for the Laboratory of Genetics and Plant Breeding, and launched the Laboratory of Experimental Botany availing world-class facilities.

Summing up the results of the meeting, Vyacheslav Gladkov underlined great scientific and intellectual potential of the university, its role in innovative development that can contribute to the region and ensure its competitiveness in many areas at the international level.
