Russian as a foreign language: up-to-date priorities

Dedicated to 145^th anniversary of Belgorod State University the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Russian as a Foreign Language: A Linguistic and Methodological Educational Platform” brought together representatives of partner universities from the countries of near and far abroad.

The Director of the Institute of Intercultural Communication and International Relations Professor Olga Prokhorova welcomed the conference participants. She noted the common difficulties that teachers of Russian as a foreign language are facing today and expressed confidence that the first international conference would become a milestone for a good tradition to hold it on a regular basis.

The conference enabled the scientists to exchanged experience in teaching Russian as a foreign language in the context of distance and combined education, as well as adaptation of international students in a new socio-cultural environment.

In the context of the plenary session scientists-linguists from China, Slovakia, Dniestrian Moldovan Republic, Belarus, Uzbekistan presented their reports. The conference was also attended by the representatives of the universities of Moscow, St. Petersburg, Voronezh, Tula, Pskov, Kaluga, Barnaul, Blagoveshchensk and Vladivostok.
