Innovative developments by BelSU scientists are supported by the regional government

According to the results of the regional grants competition, the following projects by BelSU scientists were supported – “Development of Rabbits Lines Producing Heat Shock Protein (Hsp 70) for Pharmaceutical Industry” (headed by the Director of BelSU Research Institute of Pharmacology of Living Systems Mikhail Pokrovsky in partnership with LLC NPP Diagnostic Systems) and “Development of Technology for Processing Organic Agricultural Waste into Adsorbents and Backfill Soils for Landfills” (headed by Professor of the Department of General Chemistry of the Institute of Pharmacy, Chemistry and Biology Alexander Vezentsev, in partnership with LLC “TK “Ecotrans”). Grants amounting to 15 million rubles each have been allocated for three years. Co-financing from industrial partners is also envisaged.

As the Director of the Research Institute of Pharmacology of Living Systems Mikhail Pokrovsky commented, there is no market for animal producers of humanized proteins as such worldwide, so the project is crucial not only for Russia. The head of the second project Professor Alexander Vezentsev noted that the team of scientists will resolve the task of developing technologies for processing accumulated organic agricultural waste into adsorbents and backfill soils for landfills.
