European Golds for Kickboxer

Anna Samygina, studying at BelSU's Law Institute, went to the World Association of Kickboxing Organizations (WAKO) European Kickboxing Championships in Maribor, Slovenia, and brought back two gold medals

WAKO is Europe's largest Kickboxing organisation and is recognised by the International Olympic Committee. This Championship, held in November, brought together athletes from 33 countries, to compete in 'Musical ', 'Point Light', 'Light Contact', and 'Full Contact' competitions. The 5-day meeting involved about 500 athletes. Ms Samygina won gold in the Point Light and Light Contact categories, but was most excited about her team's performance overall. Russia topped the medal table, prompting Ms Samygina to say,

Our 'Musical' category performance improves year on year, and puts Russia consistently among the strongest nations in the sport. Once again, we topped the medal table. I am, of course, delighted with two golds and I am pleased with my overall performance, and really grateful to everyone who supported and believed in me.
