Partnership with Uzbekistan

Belgorod State University welcomed a delegation from Qarshi State University (QSU) to discuss existing joint academic programs, and future cooperation

Dr Yusup Eshkabilov, QSU's Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, and his colleague Dr Bakhodir Shovaliev, Head of QSU's Information Technology Centre, were met at the University's Old Campus by Dr Vladislav Kuchmisty, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, Dr Vladimir Shapovalov, Vice-Rector for Quality and Supplementary Education, and Professor Andrei Papkov, Dean of the History and Philology Faculty at the Pedagogical Institute. After ironing out the details of the agreement, they all met with Professor Oleg Polukhin, Rector of our University, for more of the same. At that meeting Dr Eshkabilov expressed his enthusiasm for deeper connections with our University. Dr Alexander Mamatov, Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs, explained that our system of rating scientists and teachers, our distance learning technology, and our program for teaching Russian as a foreign language were all areas of interest for our guests. They also talked about foundation courses for QSU students here in Belgorod, which Dr Kuchmisty said may also be possible at the University's Titovka Campus in the countryside 30km from the city. The existing cooperation consists of three joint programs, the Visual Arts, Russian Language and Literature, and a Foreign Language Masters Course. The Rector urged closer cooperation, and pledged more support for the programs. Our guests then toured the University.
