BelSU entered the international rating MosIUR for the first time

The results of the Moscow International University Ranking Three University Missions (education, science and interaction with society) are published

This is the first global ranking, which began to consider the third - social - mission of the university. The final list included 1200 of the best universities in the world from 79 countries (in 2018 the ranking included TOP-333 universities). Thus, the Three University Missions rating has become consistent with the standard of the world's leading rating agencies, the final tables of which include 1001+ positions. Out of the 74 Russian universities included in the ranking, only two universities from the Black Soil region were Belgorod State University (in the group of 901-1000 among world universities and at positions 40-47 among Russian universities) and Voronezh State University.

An international examination of the rating results was conducted with the participation of 16 reputable foreign experts.

The top 100 ranking included Moscow State University (22nd place), St. Petersburg State University (41st place) and MIPT (51st place). The largest number of the best universities in the world is located in European countries - 414 universities or almost 35% of the published list. The second macro-region in terms of representation in the ranking is Asia, which accounts for 29% of the universities included in the ranking. According to this parameter, North America is only the third - 20%. Russia accounts for 6% of the best universities in the world (74 universities), and this is more than throughout Latin America (5%), Australia and Oceania (4%).

For reference (according to www.raex-rr.com):

The Moscow International University Rating is a fundamentally new academic rating that for the first time evaluates all three key missions of the university: education, science and interaction with society. The formation of the rating Three University Missions was initiated by the Russian Union of Rectors in accordance with the order of the President of Russia V.V. Putin. The rating operator is the Association of Compilers of Ratings, Rankings and Other Performance Assessments (ACP), of which the leading rating and research centers are members. The rating creation initiative was supported by leading universities in Russia, China, India, Iran, Turkey, and Japan. The rating methodology has been a large-scale public discussion in Russia and abroad, which was attended by over 100 universities. The membership of the rating expert council includes 25 experts from 16 countries.

To compile the rating, objective criteria were used, approved by international experts; reputation polls are completely excluded. Moreover, the range of sources of information for the rating is much wider than traditionally used in existing popular ratings. Sources of information are open data from the official websites of universities and national authorities, as well as data from independent international sources: Clarivate Analytics (a provider of data and metrics from InCites and the Global Institutional Profiles Project (GIPP)); Elsevier (owner of the bibliographic and abstract database Scopus); Coursera and edX online mass education platforms; publicly accessible multilingual universal encyclopedia Wikipedia; search engines Google, Yandex, Baidu; social networks Facebook, Twitter, VK, Sina Weibo; Alexa, one of the world leaders in web analytics; websites of international student olympiads; IREG List of International Academic Awards science awards websites.
